Tea Time

Tea Time

When I saw the “A Nice Cuppa” stamp set and matching framelits in the Occasions catalog, I knew I wanted to do a stamp camp featuring that set!  We made 5 fun projects together and had a great time at the class.

We gussied up a cafe bag.  (did you know they are food safe?  they are!)  The teapot charm is so “charming” and there are lemons and spoons included in the embellishment package too, so cute!  The spoon is die cut from silver foil, and the lemon has a touch of wink of stella to glitz it up a bit.

Inside this card, it says “hope your day stacks up to be one good thing after another”  Good for many different occasions, I think.

I’ll share the other 3 projects we made tomorrow, but here’s a peek at the yummy cupcakes we had!

I added a little powdered Jello to the cream cheese frosting and they were delish!

Hope you have a great day.

Baby Wipe Techniques

Baby Wipe Techniques

I’ve been stamping for nearly 25 years now, and back in “the old days” when I didn’t have a stamp pad in the color I wanted, I made my own using baby wipes and drops of ink. We recently revisited this technique in class and it was fun to see other stampers marvel at the possibilities!

Here’s our technique book entry and samples we stamped…

It really is just as easy as it sounds. The little tip at the end of the directions is great if you don’t want ink all over your hands. Don’t ask me how I know that. 😉

Once we had the technique mastered, we made this card. I think it’s a great mix of simple and masculine.

When is the last time you used baby wipes? Maybe it’s time to give this technique a try!

Sometimes when I see a beautiful card I just have to copy it!

This gorgeous card is featured in the new 2016 occasions catalog and I loved it just the way it was so I was a copy cat and made this one. My mother in law’s birthday is coming up next week and I bet she will love it too!

When you stamp, do you usually come up with your own original designs or do you CASE (copy and share everything)? I’ve also heard CASE expressed as (copy and selectively edit). Clever!

Big Shot Magnetic Platform = Must Have!

Big Shot Magnetic Platform = Must Have!

Stampin Up has some great new weekly deals starting March 31, wow!  The magnetic platform for the Big Shot is a must have when you’re using framelits, thinlets or edglit dies.  I can’t tell you how much money I have saved on post it notes since this handy dandy tool was invented!  I used to have to secure my framelit to my paper with a post it note, but now the magnetic platform has solved all my shimmy and slipping paper issues and I use my Big Shot more than ever.  The magnetic platform is on sale this week for $10 off, so it’s a great time to get it if you don’t have it yet.

There are lots of other great things on sale this week, check them out by clicking on the photo, it will take you right to all of the goodies on sale this week.

PS.  I still use my post it notes, but now I add them inside cards.  Much better way to use them! 😉

Spring Stamp a Stack!

Spring Stamp a Stack!

Last week we had our first stamp a stack class, we made 20 cards for $30 and it was lots of fun!  Stampers could choose their sentiments on each card so they could make a variety of occasions all at the same time.

It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but I think I like the wedding/anniversary card in front best!

I swear I have had this stamp since it first came out in the new catalog in June of 2014.  Now it’s February of 2015 and I am finally using it for the first time!  I’m getting addicted to using the Blendabilities markers, and I hope they are getting easier for people in class to use.  On this card we used just 3 color families to keep it simple, love it!

Why on earth did I wait so long to use this pretty stamp?!

I think I better go through my stamping stash and see what else I have been missing out on!
